Zinc oxide is one of the principal white pigments developed in the 18th century, and was more commonly known as zinc white or Chinese white. The widest application of this color has been in watercolors, sold under the name Chinese white. It was used as a "body color" in 19th century watercolors, but is less often used today in this technique.
Rublev Colours Zinc Oxide watercolor is made using "French process" zinc oxide pigment made from the metal. Zinc oxide retains its original whiteness during aging in watercolor.
